Give Tomorrow A Chance
A Brighter Future For Everyone
A Brighter Future For Everyone
Everyone struggles at one point in their lives. And at the moment when we have the courage to reach out for help, we hope that others will reach back. We hope that we will be looked upon with understanding and sympathy. We hope that we will be treated with kindness and respect and be given all that we need to feel cared for and to heal. Making people feel cared for is the heart and the mission of Give Tomorrow A Chance.
It is estimated that in the United States 7.7 million young people ages 3-17 suffer from a behavioral health challenge and 57.8 million adults over the age of 18 are struggling with mental illness. The need for help is real.
Because of the stigma, negative attitudes, beliefs, and stereotypes surrounding mental illness, people often do not understand these conditions and how they affect the lives of those suffering and their families. Also, because of misplaced feelings of shame, individuals in need of care often delay or reject treatment for themselves or their children.
Also, while genuine efforts are being made to help these children and adults, they are often not given that “little extra” that they deserve. They are often not given the therapeutic items and personal necessities that we all need to heal.
Give Tomorrow A Chance will help eliminate the stigma surrounding mental illness by engaging with the community and allowing people with lived experience to tell their stories, inspiring empathy and understanding while also encouraging individuals in need to seek care for themselves or their children.
Through donations, Give Tomorrow A Chance will help fund the purchase of therapeutic items that enhance care and the treatment experience for patients. The needs of individual patients will be met by providing the much-needed personal necessities.
Extras might include, but are not limited to, books, puzzles, art supplies, wall art, funding for guest speakers as well as socks, shoes, other clothing items, and toiletries. Upon leaving treatment, patients will be given a parting gift of a therapeutic heart-shaped weighted pillow as a reminder that they are valued.
(Less than 10% of donations will go to administrative spend)
Give Tomorrow A Chance cares deeply about these children and adults, coming from a place of understanding and empathy. Give Tomorrow A Chance wants them to know that we believe in them and that help, hope and a better tomorrow is out there waiting for them if they just give tomorrow a chance.
